I got a new weedtrimmer as our garden's grass seems to be quite flat in the centre but long on the sides. Was quite fun working on the lawn in the morning. Take a bit of getting used to, and I have some bare patches as badges of honour.

Before and After ... note the botak spots near the wall |
Also revived some of my faded garden furniture with a combination of canola oil+vinegar. There are still some patchy colours, but it definitely has been given a new lease of life.

We also had an old truck tyre that was initially supposed to be our sandpit but has since become redundant. So I decided to set it up as our second compost heap for all the grass cuttings we had. Problem is, there was a curve in the tyre that allows stagnant water to accumulate.
At first I thought it'd be quite easy to drain the water ... I could just use a nail and a hammer to make holes. However, that didn't work. At all. Neither did a drill. In the end, I had some help and super equipment to cut off the inside rim to allow more surface contact between soil and grass, as well as to ensure no mosquitoes could breed.
One big perk of being in the garden is to spot the little critters that scurry about. Some call them pests, but for me, life in the garden is always a good sign.
