Girl had a wonderful opportunity to go to Hokkaido with here grandparents. She saw snow for the first time, skied down the slopes ... and injured her arm.

Ouch! |
To make her brothers feel better about staying home, we went for the next best thing ... ice skating!
We brought our socks and gloves (you can buy some there too), and headed down to the skates corner. The place had an overall damp and dingy feel, but it seemed to be functioning well.
Finding the right sized skate and strapping it on took a while, but the kids finally got all suited up.
We also rented one of those glider thingys to help Boy #2 for additional support, and it was a big hit with the kids.
Baby had to sit out the fun this round. But we'd definitely be back with her on skates!
Like the slopes of Hokkaido, there were lots of spills and thrills. At least Boy #1's inline skating training came in handy.
A memorable experience for sure.
